The process to follow for troubleshooting gathering depends on the data source type. This is because each data source type employs a specific gathering component to gather the data.


Indexing in Funnelback refers to a group of different 'steps' that, when combined, results in a set of index files.

When you have an issue with indexing the first thing you should do is to check the update.log that is listed in the offline log files for the data source.

This will help you pinpoint which indexing step failed. Once you know this you can then view the corresponding Step-*.log from the offline log files.
