Restore this version example dialogs

The Restore this version dialog presents a list of what changes will be affected if the current page is restored to the selected page.

What it presents, therefore, changes depending on the version being changed from and to.

Text content

If textual content is the difference between the page version being restored and the current page the Restore this version dialog presents Text content in the Summary of changes.

The textual difference can be within a text block, or within a formatted text field within a component.

Layouts

If a layout is the difference between the page version being restored and the current page, the Restore this version dialog presents Layout in the Summary of changes

When restoring to a version of a page that includes a layout, the layout and content and/or component blocks included with the layout are restored.

The restored page will use the latest version of the layout if the layout has been updated.

If the layout no longer exists, the blocks associated with the layout are still restored. They layout is not restored, however.

Templates

If a template is the difference between the page version being restored and the current page, the Restore this version dialog presents presents Template in the Summary of changes

When restoring to a version of a page that includes a template, the template, and content and/or component blocks included with the template are restored.

The restored page will use the latest version of the template if the template has been updated.

If the template no longer exists, the blocks associated with the template are still restored. The template is not restored, however.

Component content

If component-level changes are the difference between the page version being restored and the current page, the Restore this version dialog presents presents Component content in the Summary of changes

The dialog will also, in most cases, present Text content in the Summary: most components include formatted text fields.

Page translations

If page translation are the difference between the page version being restored and the current page, the Restore this version dialog presents presents Languages in the Summary of changes

When restoring to a version of a page that includes page translations, the translated content is restored if the translation language still exists. If the translation language no longer exists, the translated content is not restored.

Personalization

If personalization content is the difference between the page version being restored and the current page, the Restore this version dialog presents Personalization in the Summary of changes.

The dialog will also, in most cases, present Text content in the Summary: personalisation content almost always includes textual content.

A/B testing

If a connected A/B test is the difference between the page version being restored and the current page, the Restore this version dialog presents A/B testing in the Summary of changes.

When restoring to a version of a page that includes a connected A/B test, the blocks associated with the test are restored as they were, with the A/B test connected.

If the A/B test no longer exists, the blocks associated with test are still restored. They are not associated with the (no longer extant) A/B test, however.
