User role comparison reference

If your user account has the Owner primary role or Admin primary role attributed, you can choose what user role to apply when you invite others to your organization. Admin user role reference maps the two admin-specific roles to the types of general duties expected of these role types.

Role

The admin primary role allows one or more users within your organization to have limited elevated privileges for managing user invitations.

Typically, admin users are trusted users within your business with a sufficient understanding of your organizational needs.

An owner primary role allows one or more users within your organization to have elevated privileges for managing users.

Duties

Typical duties:

  • Configure templates provided by developers

  • Configure integrations

  • Configure workflows

  • Customize configuration

  • Implement capabilities

  • Manage users

  • Manage site configuration.

Typical duties:

  • Invite users to an organization.

  • Grant owner and admin role permissions

  • View billing information and access invoices.

  • All other duties an Admin primary role user can perform.

Capability

An admin interacts with the following capabilities:

  • An owner can access all functions, capabilities, and services in the Squiz DXP.

  • Including access to the Squiz DXP Log service.

Common job titles

Site Manager, Site Administrator

Typically, the owner is the main business owner of Squiz DXP within your organization.

Non-admin user role reference maps each non-admin primary user role to the general duties commonly associated with these role types in the Squiz DXP.

A developer creates capabilities using the existing services and features available in the DXP.

They create tools that content editors and site builders use to perform their duties.

  • Troubleshoot content problems

  • Monitor search result behaviour (for example, searching hourly distribution)

  • Manage users

  • Manage site configuration.

  • Set up user interfaces using elements provided by developers.

  • Influence search result behavior (for example, best bets).
