Get started with Spark

Squiz Spark is an AI assistant that turns a brief into a page in Squiz Content Management. You describe what the page needs to include, and Spark builds the page from the components and templates your organization already uses.

Spark is designed for people who create pages occasionally, such as subject matter experts, department coordinators, and infrequent publishers. You do not need to know how to assemble components, because Spark places your content into them for you.

    What Spark does

Spark uses your brief and any reference files you add to create a standard page at the location you choose in the asset tree. It matches your content to the components that are available at that location, and it respects the zones of any template you select.

Because Spark creates a standard page, you can open it in the Live Content Editor and change it in the same way as any other page.

    Use Spark to:

    • Turn a short description of a page into a built page.
    • Build a page from an existing document, such as a draft, a policy, or a briefing note.
    • Build a page that follows the layout of a screenshot or design mockup.

      What you need

Before you create a page, check that the following are in place:

      • An administrator has turned on Spark for your organization. Read Turn Spark on or off to learn more about this topic.
      • Your user account can use Spark. Read Control who can use Spark to learn more about this topic.
      • Your organization has Spark credits available. Read Manage Spark credits to learn more about this topic.
      • The location where you create the page is inside a site. Spark uses the components and templates that are set up for that site, so the site needs components that Spark can use. For more information about components, read the Component Service documentation.

      How you create a page

The process is the same each time:

      1. Open Spark in Squiz Content Management. Read Open Spark and connect to learn more about this topic.
      2. Choose where the new page goes, and optionally choose a template.
      3. Describe the page in a brief, and optionally add reference files.
      4. Review your choices and select Create page.
      5. Wait while Spark builds the page. You can close the panel and return later.
      6. Open the new page and review it.

The Create a page with Spark page describes each step in detail.

        Review every page

Spark creates a first version of a page for you to check. Always review the text, images, and layout before you make a page available to your visitors.

Spark lists any adjustments it made and recommendations for you to follow up when it finishes. Read Review a page that Spark created to learn more about this topic.
