Classifieds

If your organisation has Classifieds functionality enabled, you will be able to:

  • Buy, buy, buy—contact colleagues to negotiate purchase of items—

    • see a list of items that are for sale/free,

    • click through to the staff profiles of colleagues that are offering items you may want to purchase (this is so that you can contact them).

  • Sell, sell, sell—advertise items—

    • list items for sale/free,

    • mark items that you have listed, as 'sold' or 'available'.

The classifieds listing shows:

  • items currently for sale (listed within the last 30 days), and

  • items sold (within the last 14 days).

Both you and your colleagues can list items for sales within the classifieds listing. Your organisation’s Squiz Workplace administrators can remove or republish items at any time, if required. You can contact them via the Feedback form (or by appending /feedback-form to the end of your Workplace site’s base URL).

What if my item doesn’t sell?

If you do list an item for sale, and it’s still marked as 'Available' after 30 (thirty) days, it will disappear from the listing. In this case, you will receive an email prompting you to talk to one of your organisation’s Squiz Workplace administrators, should you wish to republish your item’s advertisement for another 30 (thirty) days.

Each listing item (advertisement) will display the following information:

  • Title of the advertisement.

  • Contact Seller—a link to the person who advertised the item.

  • Date & Time—date the item was advertised.

  • Status of item—will be 'Sold' or 'Available' for items other people have advertised, or 'Mark as available' or 'Mark as sold' for items you’ve created.

Listing items may also display:

  • images of the item,

  • a description of the item.

Contact colleagues to negotiate purchase of items

Once you’ve identified the item you would like to purchase (and checked that it’s not marked as 'Sold' already), the next step is to contact the owner of the item to negotiate a sweet deal! It’s pretty simple.

  • Click on the link to the contact in the top right corner of the listing item. This will take you to the owner’s staff profile, and from there, you’ll be able to contact them.

Anyone can advertise an item for sale/free. It’s a very simple process.

  1. Click on the 'List a new item' button from the Classifieds page. This will take you to the List a new classified item page.

  2. Complete the form on the List a new classified item page, as follows:

    • Upload image: upload multiple images of the classifieds item.

    • Title: enter in a title for your advertisement.

    • Article body: enter in a description for your advertisement.

  3. Click the 'Create item' button to include your item in the classifieds listing.

Manage your advertised items

For items that you’ve created, you’ll be able to mark them as 'Sold' when you do sell them. If you mark them as 'Sold' but then need to make them available again, you can mark them as 'Available'.

Mark an item as 'Sold'

  • Click on the 'Mark as sold' button within your listing item.

Mark item as 'Available'

  • Click on the 'Mark as available' button within your listing item.
