Get started with Conversations

Conversations uses content that has been crawled and organized by Content Intelligence. Review the following requirements and setup considerations before you create an agent.

Content Intelligence

Conversations uses content from monitored Content Intelligence topics. The initial setup includes:

  1. Add your website to Content Intelligence.
  2. Wait for the initial scan to finish.
  3. Review the topics identified by Content Intelligence.
  4. Monitor the topics that you want your agent to use.
  5. Review the AI Readiness results for those topics and resolve important content issues where appropriate.

Only monitored topics can be connected to an agent. When your website content changes, Content Intelligence rescans monitored topics according to its configured schedule. Changes are not necessarily available to an agent immediately.

Subscription and site requirements

Your DXP Organization must have the Conversations capability enabled and enough usage available in its DXP subscription. The available limits are shown on the Subscription page for users who can view subscription details.

You also need a website or application where the agent can be implemented. The domain used by a browser-based implementation must be registered with your DXP Organization for origin validation. Contact your Squiz account team to register a domain or to confirm your DXP Organization configuration.

User roles and access

The permissions required depend on the task:

  • Users who configure agents need access to Conversations and the relevant DXP Organization.
  • Users who review full conversation text should be assigned the Chatbot Reviewer secondary role. Conversation text may contain information entered by website visitors.
  • Organization owners and administrators manage users and roles. See User roles for general access guidance.

If a user cannot see an agent, check that they are working in the correct DXP Organization and have been assigned the required role.
