Add a site to the Content Intelligence dashboard

To get insights about a website you need to first add the website to the Content Intelligence dashboard.

The following steps describe the experience of adding a website using the Content Intelligence Dashboard.

Steps

  1. Click Content health on the Get started with Content Intelligence

  2. Start the Site Scan wizard using one of the following methods:

    1. Click Setup initial scan if setting up your first site.

    2. Click Create site if one of your sites is already set up.

  3. Specify the type of root URL in the Root URL field.

To prevent typing mistakes that can lead to auditing errors, copying and pasting (instead of typing) is recommended.
    URL

The starting web address of your site.

The URL should represent the top-most level from which you want the audit to begin.

    Sitemap

The URL that hosts the file (usually in XML format) listing all the important URLs on a website.

  4. If you want to exclude part of your website from being scanned, copy and paste the child page URL segment into the Excluded paths field.

For example, if you wanted to exclude https://example.com/products/widgets you would paste the products/widgets URL segment into the Excluded paths field.

  5. Click Next.

  6. Name the site scope you added using the Name field.

The name you choose here will appear in the list of sites.
  7. Click Next.

  8. Use the Scan frequency options to select when your content health metrics are updated.

More frequent scans will consume your audit credit allowance faster, with the trade-off being less waiting between making a change and observing the result in content health metrics.

  9. Click Next.

  10. Review the choices you made in the Site Scan wizard and click Begin Scan to add your site.

All sites added to Content Intelligence, whether from your initial scan or added later using Create site will appear in your site list.

The time it takes to complete the site scan depends on the number of pages and the complexity of those pages.

If you are an Owner you can track your audit credit usage on the Subscription page.
