Connect topics to an agent

An agent uses the monitored Content Intelligence topics connected to it as the source of its answers. Connect only topics that belong to the agent’s purpose. Connecting unrelated topics can make the agent’s scope unclear and can lead to less useful answers.

Add topics to an agent

  1. Sign in to the DXP Console.
  2. Open Conversations Agents.
  3. Select the agent you want to configure.
  4. In the Topics section, click Add topics.
  5. Select the monitored topics that contain the content the agent should use.
  6. Click Add or Save, depending on the DXP Console prompt.
  7. Test questions from each connected topic.

Review topic readiness

Before adding a topic, open it in Content Intelligence and review its AI Readiness status.

A topic that meets all these ideal conditions will yield better results compared with other topics that have some conditions in an incomplete state:

  • Deep scan is complete.
  • Topic contains the pages and information the agent needs.
  • Topic does not have unresolved issues that could cause conflicting, incomplete, or unclear answers.

If your topics do not meet all of these conditions, that does not mean they can not be used in your agent.

Topic lifecycle

A topic can change after it is connected to an agent. New or changed pages become available after Content Intelligence processes them, and a topic’s coverage can change when its site content changes.

Review connected topics regularly and test the agent after:

  • monitoring a new topic;
  • changing the pages or content used by a topic;
  • resolving important AI Readiness issues; or
  • removing a topic from an agent.
