Agent field reference
This section describes the agent fields relevant to this procedure.
Answer Guidelines agent field
Use Answer Guidelines to describe how the agent should present answers. Keep the guidelines short and focused on the desired tone, audience, length, and structure. Answer Guidelines are not a replacement for connecting the correct topics.
For example:
Use a clear, friendly, conversational tone. Address the visitor directly as "you". Keep answers concise and use short lists when they improve readability. Do not invent information that is not supported by the website content.
Avoid adding long system prompts, secrets, personal data, or instructions unrelated to how the answer should be written. Test the agent after changing these guidelines.
Default Response agent field
The Default Response is shown when the agent cannot answer a question confidently or the question is outside the agent’s configured scope. Write a response that explains the limitation and directs the visitor to a useful next step.
For example:
I couldn't find an answer to that question. Try asking about our courses, fees, or application process, or contact our support team for help.
Do not use the default response to hide gaps in the topics connected to the agent. If the agent should answer a question, check that the relevant topic is monitored and connected.
DXP Organization agent field
The DXP Organization determines where the agent is managed and which organization configuration applies to it. If the DXP Console asks you to select a DXP Organization, choose the one that owns the website experience and its Content Intelligence topics.
