Social feeds

Social feeds are another great way to stay up-to-date with what’s happening within your organisation. Specifically you can keep up-to-date with what your colleagues are currently commenting about.

Social feeds relevant to you can be found in the What’s happening section on the homepage. These feeds include:

  • My Collaboration

  • My Communities

  • Bookmarked Discussions

  • Latest Activity.

The Social feed of individual colleagues can be found in the What’s happening section of their personal Staff profile page.

This section of the guide explains the different social feeds—helping you to keep a finger on the pulse of your organisation. If you’re after help with contributing comments to the social feeds, check out the comprehensive instructions we provide in the Working with comments section of this guide.

My Collaboration

The 'My Collaboration' social feed is your personal social feed. It is the most common place for you to make a social comment post*. If you’re interested, we give a pretty thorough overview of making social comment posts in the Social collaboration section of this user guide.

Within the 'My Collaboration' tab you will be able to:

  • make your own comment posts,

  • view (reply to, 'like', 'flag', bookmark, share) the comment posts of people you are 'following',

  • view the comments of people that have directly a @ (at) mentioned you (e.g. @sfieldsinclair).

* You can also make social posts from:

  • content pages (including news articles etc.) which have commenting enabled, and

  • community discussion pages.

My Communities

If you are following a community, then any comment posts for that community will appear in the 'My Communities' social feed.

You can’t make a new comment post from this tab, you can however:

  • view or click through to the community, where a comment was made or to the staff profile of the person who made the comment, and

  • reply to, 'like', bookmark, share, or 'flag' a comment post from this feed.

Bookmarked Discussions

The 'Bookmarked Discussions' social feed is also straight forward. If you’ve bookmarked any of your colleague’s comments, then those comments will appear in your 'Bookmarked Discussions' feed.

Just like the 'My Communities' social feed, you can’t make a new comment post from this tab, but you can:

  • view or click through to the community, where a comment was made or to the staff profile of the person who made the comment, and

  • reply to, 'like', 'un-bookmark', share, or 'flag' a comment post from this feed.

Latest Activity

The 'Latest Activity' social feed is a record of all the social comment posts that have been made in your organisation’s Squiz Workplace.

It’s important to note that when you make a comment, it’s not a private chat message. All of your comments appear in the 'Latest Activity' social feed, along with those of your colleagues.

Similar to the 'My Communities' and 'Bookmarked discussions social feeds, you can’t make a new comment post from this tab, but you can:

  • view or click through to the community, where a comment was made or to the staff profile of the person who made the comment, and

  • reply, 'like', bookmark, share, or 'flag' a comment post from this feed.

Personal profile feeds

If you’re super keen to check out any of your colleagues' latest comment posts, you can view their social feeds within their Staff profile pages. The social feed for a Squiz Workplace user is stored within an accordion on the Staff profile page. By default, the accordion is labelled 'What’s happening'.
