User configuration files
|This feature is not available to users of the Squiz Experience Cloud version of Funnelback.|
There are several configuration files that determine a user’s permissions and properties. These files are normally edited via the web administration interface, however some advanced configuration can be achieved with direct editing.
The configuration files are read with the following precedence:
The particular user’s configuration.
The details of a given role which may be assigned to a user.
The customised system-wide settings for Funnelback administration.
The system-wide defaults for Funnelback administration.
Folder rules for the file-manager
So, for example, the values in the user’s configuration file take precedence over those from the system-wide defaults.
The configuration files are plain text files, similar to INI files, items are grouped together into sections and each line comprises a key/value pair.
In most common cases it is not necessary to directly edit these configuration files as the user/role management screens provide a structured way to edit them. Legacy file management rules may be directly added as individual sections in user or role files if needed. The file-manager security page provides details on the required syntax.
