Search form tags

Introduction

Search form tags are used with the Classic user interface. The Modern UI uses FreeMarker templates (A form converter tool is provided to convert Classic UI form files to Modern UI FreeMarker files).

Form tags are of the form:

 <s:tagname attributes>text</s:tagname>

Where:

tagname
is the name of the tag. Tag names are case sensitive.
attributes
are optional attributes that affect how the tag works.
text
is optional text that is used as a parameter to the tag processing.

Note

search.cgi will also process any HTML checkboxes and radio buttons,

<input type="checkbox" name="param" ...
<input type="radio" name="param" ...

to ensure that checkboxes/radio buttons match the current CGI parameters.

For example, if year=2006 then the year checkbox, with value 2006, will be checked.
