User role comparison reference

If your user account has the Owner primary role or Admin primary role attributed, you can choose what user role to apply when you invite others to your organization.

The table maps each primary DXP user role with the type of general duties each role performs within the DXP.

A developer creates new capabilities using the existing capabilities available in the DXP.

They create tools that content editors and site builders use to perform their duties.

An admin manages the DXP instance for their organization.

Duties

A content editor typically does these tasks within the DXP:

A developer typically does these tasks within the DXP:

  • Build website templates

  • Create and troubleshoot capabilities

  • Create and execute tests.

  • Integrate with third-party apps

An admin typically does these tasks within the DXP:
